School is out and summer is in! It's the season of berry picking, outdoor movies, splash pads, and more. Here are our top picks for families this month:
FREE OUTDOOR MOVIES
Bayshore is welcoming kids of all ages (and adults too!) to enjoy the FREE Family Flicks movie series playing from the Bayshore Marquee facing The Yard. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join on Wednesday evenings for fun family entertainment. Movies start at 5pm!
Konkel Park in Greenfield is also hosting free outdoor movies for families.
SPLASH PADS
With the recent heat wave and area schools wrapping up the academic year, it's clear that summer is upon us! There's no better time to hit the nearest watering hole and cool off.
STRAWBERRY PICKING
Strawberries are expected to be ripe for picking in mid-late June. Keep an eye on this page for all the details. We'll be updating it when they're ready!
STATE PARKS WITHIN ONE HOUR
The observation towers in Wisconsin State Parks are now officially open! There's a great tower in Lapham Peak State Park in Delafield, and at Pike Lake's Powder Hill. We rounded up 13 State Park Within One Hour of Milwaukee to make it easy for you.

BEER GARDENS
By definition, a biergarten is simply an open-air space where beer and food are served. But in reality, they are so much more than that. Popular in Bavaria and Germany, beer gardens are a festive place for people to get together and delight in good food, beer, and the outdoors.
Many have popped up over the years around Milwaukee, and they are definitely family-friendly. They are set in parks, often near playgrounds, and many serve non-alcoholic options.
